DAVID S. COMPO

As President of James D. Compo, Inc, a Custom Design Building Company, David has spent the last 27 years working in all the building trades.  Through years of working with our the customers and our highly skilled tradesmen, he has garnered the practical experience needed to head up our companies day to day operations. He handles all sales for the lots, the new home construction as well as the remodeling and additions. He works closely with our customers to ensure that all key aspects of the job are both understood and clearly delineated in the contract.  He also handles the investigative portion of the inspection business as our Master Analyst.  He has functioned as an expert witness in regard to building problems and radon technology throughout S.E. Michigan. City officials, the discerning public, and attorneys looking for the facts trust that David will search out building complications and provide solutions to even the most difficult building and engineering problems. Our inspections are so thorough that David is often called in to prepare Punch-lists, (a list of items that need to be corrected or completed) on homes being built by other builders. This comprehensive list is then handed over to new homeowner to give to their builder to address. Many of these customers have later said that this proved to be an invaluable service as it provided them with the knowledge to protect their interests. David  is often asked to speak at seminars on energy efficiency, structural insulated panels, home inspections, and numerous other building related topics.

As Chief Associate Broker and Realtor of our new Real Estate Brokerage division, Compo REI, David can list our customers properties, further adding to our list of services. If a customer needs a specific lot that we don't have a lot in inventory, David can conduct a comprehensive search to locate that special piece of land to fit their  needs and budget.

David is both a Licensed Builder, a Journeyman Carpenter and a Real Estate Broker.  He is a Presidents Club sales professional, an expert designer, a member of the Farmington Hills Chamber and the local Business Network International. David started drawing plans for the company at the age of 15.  At 17, he took 1st place in the State of Michigan Architectural Award competition. This state wide competition included entries from both high schools and vocational schools.

David's goal is to keep the interests of the customer first as we design and build their dream home. David's cable TV Show  the "Building Scene" can be seen weekly on Time Warner Cable local access Channel 12 in Novi, Farmington and Farmington Hills. During his show, he interviews those people most influential in the building industry including those who bring the newest and most innovative technology to the forefront of the industry. He also takes the viewers on tours through some of the most interesting homes throughout S.E. Michigan.

His hobbies include flying, skiing, snowmobiling, running, swimming, biking and weight training. Enjoying his partnership with his parents, Janet and Jim, and his marriage to his lovely wife, Michele, David looks forward to a continued career as a Custom Home Builder. He lovingly named our first model in Hidden Lake, "Villa Michele" in honor of his wife. Michele now works as the corporate Secretary and Treasurer.  Our new model at Hidden Lake is named after their first son Dawson who was born in June of 2002. Dawson already has his eye on Daddy's hammer and level, making him possibly the fourth generation builder to proudly carry on the Compo Legacy.
