James D. Compo, Inc. and Energy Star
James Compo has been building homes for
over 48 years and since our inception we
have made quality a very high priority.
Well before the designation known as
"Energy Star" was coined, we were
already including Energy Star features
in our homes; it was just the right
thing to do. It was apparent as far
back as the 70's that energy costs were
on the rise and that improved
construction techniques and new
technologies could substantially reduce
the ongoing cost of heating and cooling
a home. For this reason it was only
natural for Compo to fully endorse the
well thought out protocol we now know as
"Energy Star". To this end, we have
attended seminars, classes, trade shows
and secured certifications in the
installation and maintenance of the
various Energy Star items. Our
commitment to this very important
initiative has allowed us to
dramatically reducing heating and
cooling costs for our clients. In fact,
we design every "Compo Custom Home" with
39 special features that are not
generally available from most builders.
We are proud to say that 15 of those 39
features are either Energy Star or Green
Build items. Go to our home page and
click on the "Our Homes" tab and then go
to the Energy Star link to review the
complete list of our "Energy Star
Specifications" and again, these are
included in every home we build.
Following this extensive list is a
second grouping of "Additional, Over and
Above Options" which we make available
to our clients. These tend to be
specialty application items and some
carry a heavier cost. Understand that
with most of these items there is a
timeline that the client may want to
consider in relation to recouping of the
cost of the feature. Some items pay for
themselves in very short order,
sometimes in just a few months, while
others can be a number of years. We
work hard to provide the best balance
for the dollar and are always open to
discussing your specific wants, needs
and budget to best help you achieve your
desired end result.
